Uniform Information
School Uniform
It is our policy that all pupils should wear uniform when attending school or when participating in a school-organised event outside normal school hours.
Our policy on school uniform is based on the philosophy that school uniform:
- promotes a sense of pride in the school.
- engenders a sense of community and belonging towards the school.
- is practical and smart.
- identifies the students with the school.
- prevents students from coming to school in fashion clothes that could be distracting.
- makes students feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance.
- is regarded as suitable wear for school and good value for money by most parents.
- is designed with health and safety in mind.
Each Pupil will be gifted the following items to be used on school site
1 x Set of waterproof trousers and jacket
1 x Outdoor work overalls
1 x Water bottle
Parents are asked to provide the following items to be kept in school:
1 x Pair of wellingtons
1 x Pair of training shoes for PE
Pupils can wear trousers, joggers, leggings, or knee length shorts in black, with our school logo on.
Pupils can wear either trainers or school shoes.
Parents can contact our uniform supplier to purchase items of uniform with logos and initials (www.pbsports.co.uk).
We do not allow pupils to wear jewellery on health and safety grounds. The exceptions to this rule are simple studs in pierced ears. We ask the pupil to either remove these during some practical activities or cover them with a plaster to prevent them from causing injury either to themselves or others.
The school welcomes pupils from all backgrounds and faith communities. If there are reasons, for example on religious grounds, why parents want their child to wear clothes that differ from the school uniform, the school will look sympathetically at such requests.
We ask all parents to support the school uniform policy.
